Goodbye Hong Kong, thanks for the one night stand I never thought I wanted!

After yesterday's debacle, I heard mentions of how "lucky" I am that my passport didn't have enough blank pages for my Indian visa, which I promise is much more sexy in theory than in practice, but I'll spare you the hassle-and-tear-ridden details of my adventures yesterday and this morning.

However, I would love to shed some light on this notion of "luck" filling my passport.

Yes, it was pretty much full - I have certainly traveled a lot, both for business and pleasure, and for that I am grateful.

But "luck" did not build me a life that permits such freedom - I did.

I made conscious decisions to move in a direction that served my aspirations. I sold cars, quit an awesome job, left friends and family in California, lived out of a suitcase for well over a year, saved everything I could and learned new skills in industries that have not only permit me the time to travel but the funds to afford it as well.

I am the one who took risks, prioritized my curiosities over luxuries, and said YES to nearly every unexplored opportunity that fell into my lap.

This may sound like I am taking "credit" for building a life I love and I absolutely am - but the point I'd like to highlight is that YOU CAN TOO.

Did I do it alone? Absolutely not.

But you too can rearrange at any time of your life to build something that YOU find beautiful and rewarding.

We create our luck. Remove any blocks that stand in your way, they are simply illusions.

And when life says you can't go to India, you pick yourself up off the Hong Kong airport floor, dry your tears, book a hotel and be the first girl (or unicorn) in line at the consulate the next morning, get your emergency passport, hustle your happy ass straight back to the airport and camp out until an Air India representative arrives to rebook your flight.

A day late and many dollars short, I still don't know if I'll get on this flight. But I KNOW it will work out exactly as it should. Because I chose it all, just like you are choosing everything in your experience at this very moment.

Choose, create, allow. Fingers crossed!
